Default Pre-Made Character Question

Can someone tell me whether I can delete a pre-made character and then remake as a level one and still keep the same name.

I worked hard thinking up these names and would like to keep them. I would like to delete my pre-set level 20 character and restart it at level one so that this upcoming sleepless weekend event I can explore the pre-searing.

Thanx

I have never opted to use a Pre-Made character before, but I would assume that as long as you picked the character name yourself that you would be able to reserve that name for as long as you had your account open.

I delete characters and remake them with the same name all the time.. could the name be taken from me in the minutes it takes me to make a character after i deleted one mabye but not very likely even if they dont have some sort of protection against it.

Deleted character names go into a 60-minute holding period to allow the reserved name to be maintained on the same account. If you delete a character on one account, the name will become available to anyone after 60 minutes and you may be able to then create that named character on another account. Please do note that there is a risk that someone else will acquire the name and bind it to his or her account. Name transfer from one account to another is risky, at best.

your character name is locked to your account for 60 minutes after you delete it. that means if i made a premade pvp male warrior build named "Bob The Man", i could delete him and start a new female elementalist at lvl 1 with the same name.

I think at this point we've answered your question ("yes" to keeping character names, though limited to an hour), but just one question for Bgnome...

Why would you want to rename a female elementalist "Bob the Man?" That's just plain silly...

i was just trying to provide an example specifically deleting a premade pvp character. the female elementalist was just there to show that you will not be limited to the same sex nor professions of the previous character..

Thank you all for your answers. I was hoping that would I would be able to keep the name.

And yes I agree Bob the Man as a female elementalist might be a bit silly....

Thanx Again
